Cooling favourites for balmy weather
Warm, sunny days spent outdoors are something most of us look forward to in summer. Read on for tasty, seasonal tips so all the family can enjoy summertime to the fullest.
Ice dreams for dogs
Supplies:
- 1 tin of your choice of ESSENTIALS PÂTÉ
(with 65% succulent meat chunks) - A couple of ice cream cups (small
containers or silicone moulds) - A small handful of kibble (dry food) or
fresh blueberries
Instructions:
01 Open a tin of ESSENTIALS PÂTÉ (expect tail-wagging on your heels).
02 Scoop pâté into your ice cream cups using a spoon or silicone spatula.
03 Deluxe version? Scoop pâté into a mixing bowl. Stir in a dab of low-fat natural yoghurt or a banana for a silky-smooth consistency. Stir in a handful of kibble (dry food) – almost looks like chocolate chips.
Alternatively, sprinkle blueberries into the mixture as little flavour bombs full of healthy antioxidants. Stir the mixture to combine and portion into your ice cream cups.
04 Pop the cups in the freezer overnight, and
let the cold do its magic.
05 Serve in hot weather as a cooling treat. Enjoy!

5 tips for a dog-friendly summer
01 Siesta time!
Let dogs take an afternoon siesta and save walkies for mornings and evenings.
02 Water and shade in spades
Make sure your dog has cool, shady spots for resting at high noon, and always provide plentiful fresh water.
03 Late servings
If your dog has less appetite when it’s warm outside, delay meals for an hour or two until the temperature dips.
04 Go slow
