Grains are often used as a cheap source of carbohydrates in factory-made kibble. If your dog switches to a grain-free kibble like ESSENTIALS, you are likely to notice positive changes.
Quality ingredients
Quality makes a noticeable difference to a dog’s health and well-being. At ESSENTIALS we use fresh, high-quality ingredients. You’ll find fresh meat and fish as well as vegetables like sweet potatoes, peas, spinach, broccoli and also blueberries in our meals, but never fillers like soy and corn.

4 simple steps to switching your dog’s food
Switching to a new dog food may involve some digestive adjustment in any dog, whether puppy or adult. Follow our simple guide and get off to a great start with your new kibble.
First day
Mix a small amount of the new kibble into the old kibble. For a nice, slow start, try 25% new kibble to 75% of the old one.
First week
Make the transition over 3-7 days. By gradually getting your dog accustomed to the new kibble, you’ll be easing the digestive adjustment and avoiding tummy troubles.
First fortnight
Keep an eye on your dog’s digestion and general well-being. If your dog is thriving, you can gradually increase the amount of new kibble in the mix. If your dog’s stools are on the loose side, it may be a sign of overfeeding. Keep kibble meals to a minimum until the stools firm up.
Take heart, be patient
Every dog is unique. Spend the first couple of weeks working out the right portion size. Once your dog’s stools are normal and healthy, and your dog is full and contented after meals, you’ve found the right amount.
